“Clash Royale” is one of the most popular mobile games in the world and continues to grow. In 2025, its revenue and popularity have reached new heights. Recently, we’ve not only seen spikes at a global level, but the popularity has also grown at a local level. “I’ve always had ‘Clash Royale,’ but in the past couple of months, I’ve recently started playing much more,” said Bennett Sullivan, a co-leader of the Class of 26

“Clash Royale” is a real-time, multiplayer strategy game for mobile devices. Players build a deck of cards representing troops, spells, and defenses from the “Clash of Clans” universe to battle other players in head-to-head matches. The objective is to knock down the opponent’s towers to earn crowns and progress through different arenas.
Specifically, within Laguna Blanca, a “Clash Royale” clan known as Big Red Wolves has opened a new community for “Clash Royale” players to grow, share interests, and have fun. Big Red Wolves is a clan created by Sterling Fisher, Class of 2028, and now has a full 50 members in the clan. “I created the clan around December 2024, and I never expected it to be this successful,” Sterling said. Initially, the Big Red Wolves started with only five members from the class of 2028, but now have members from all grades at Laguna Blanca.
Most recently, through dedicated gameplay and hard work, the clan has reached instrumental heights, ranking 2nd in the nation in the most recent ranking: “It’s really amazing what we’ve accomplished. Some people might not understand how many hours get put into being ranked that high in the country for ‘Clash Royale,'” said Nahum-Duron-Angles, a co-leader of Big Red Wolfs, Class of 2026, and the highest ranked Laguna Blanca player in the clan. Many other students from Laguna Blanca have contributed to this accomplishment, and it deserves recognition.
Moreover, Clash Royale not only serves as an online community for people to connect but also allows clan members to collaborate and work together in person. “Clash Royale” has brought many people together, both inside and outside Laguna Blanca. “It’s nice to be able to connect with people of other grade levels and from other schools as well,” said Finlay Sutherland, a co-leader of the Big Red Wolfs, Class of 2026.
“Clash Royale” has allowed for new experiences in our community, serving as a hobby and a de-stressor: “I think ‘Clash Royale’ is a great stress reliever. It gives me time to take a break, have fun, and compete in an online game,” Finlay added. Playing “Clash Royale” is a way to take a break from the constant stress of life. It allows Laguna Blanca students to slow down, pause, and focus on something they are passionate about.
Moreover, “Clash Royale” isn’t just a global trend, but also a local one. At Laguna Blanca, the Big Red Wolves have transformed a mobile game into a thriving community focusing on building friendships, fostering teamwork, and competing at a high level in “Clash Royale.”
