Freshman Katie Wang
Q: What is one word to describe your spring break vibe this year?
A: I would say lively and happy, because I get to visit the people I have not seen in a really
long time.
Q: Why are you going? To see your family, or have fun?
A: I am going to China to see my family.
Q: Is your sister going to be in China with you, too?
A: No, my sister, Lucy Wang ‘24, is not going to be in China, because she only has one week
(or less) off. And she is not going to come to China during summer break either because she
has to find an internship at that time.
Q: What are you going to see and do?
A: I will be visiting my teachers and friends at my former school. Also, I will be spending
more time with my family.
Freshman Zen Budden
Q: Where are you going?
A: I’m driving to Vegas, and then I’m going to the Grand Canyon.
Q: Are you going to camp or stay in a hotel?
A: I’m going to a Native American preserve in the Grand Canyon called the Havasupai
Indian Reservation, which requires a 10-mile backpack into the waterfalls and campsites.
There is a small town with supplies, but most visitors camp, which is what I’m doing.
Q: Why are you going?
A: I am going to the Grand Canyon for the sights, because I have never seen waterfalls that
are over 100 feet tall before!
Q: What are you going to see and do?
A: I’m going to do a little 10-mile hike to see Havasupai Falls, and I am so excited! It is
my first time going to the Grand Canyon, and only about 100 visitors are allowed in the
reservation at a time, so we were super lucky to get a pass in.
