Coachella has always been more than just music — it’s also a fashion show and is famously called the influencer Olympics. For years, people who attend Coachella show up in boho-inspired outfits: flower crowns, chunky belts, cowboy boots, and crochet tops. But for this year, there has been a shift in the style.
In 2025, the infumins boho style was not as popular this year. Instead, festival fashion leaned toward bold, futuristic, and edgy looks. Shiny metallics, sheer fabrics, cyber-inspired glasses, and platform boots were everywhere. Many outfits seemed to belong in a sci-fi movie rather than a music festival. Everyone wants to standout now. If you don’t standout with the newest fashion trends then you are looked over as boring or basic.
“It’s like the vibe of Euphoria mixed with a little bit of The Matrix,” said Alina Ramos, a stylist from Los Angeles. “People aren’t afraid to be bold this year. It’s more about standing out than blending in.”
Popular outfits included unique and fun matching outfits. Cheetah print and even custom-made clothing. Although some are different and never seen before. Coachella used to be mainly about the music artist but more and more it has been about out doing the next persons outfit. Some festival goers get personal stylist just to make sure there outfits are on par.
“The boho thing just feels old now,” said Bella Tran, a student from San Francisco. “We want to try something new—something fun and different.”
When said this, people who attend Coachella aren’t going in side the box anymore. They are breaking the boundaries and adding small bits of boho in there. An example of this could be the use of could be crochet and cowboy boots tied in with other unique pieces of clothing.
Fashion experts say this shift shows how young people are changing the way they dress. It’s less about fitting into one style and more about expressing yourself and also experimenting with new ideas. “There’s no one trend anymore,” said fashion analyst Marcia Liu. “It’s about mixing things up and making it your own.”
