Recruiting High School Volunteers for Summer Program
January 24, 2021
We are happy to announce that United Way will be holding our annual summer enrichment program, Fun in the Sun, in person this summer. After a virtual experience last summer we are very excited to be able to welcome our young scholars on campus again this summer.
Part of what makes Fun in the Sun special are our wonderful high school volunteers. This is also an excellent way for high school students to earn required community service hours and gain work experience for resume building and college applications.
Fun in the Sun will run at 6 campuses this summer in Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, Goleta, Solvang, and Guadalupe. The program lasts for 6 weeks and we ask that CIT’s commit to the full 6 weeks. We are employing all necessary Covid precautions so some details may change as public health updates and requirements change. The dates this summer will be June 21 – July 31 from 8:30 am -4:30 pm daily.
