“Everyone played awesome,” exclaimed senior defensive player Clarissa Coburn of the Girl’s Varsity Soccer opening match against Villanova Prep.
The rainy match, that resulted in a 2-0 victory, set the girls down the right path. With junior Nadia Belton holding down defense, offensive player junior Clara Madsen was open to score the first goal. The second goal, the first of her career, was scored by Clarissa. As the game progressed sophomore Morgan Gainey saved everything coming her way, allowing no goals to be scored by the opposing team.
The girls will go on to play Carpinteria in a home match.
