The Laguna Blanca Varsity Boys’ Basketball Team lost to the Santa Ynez Pirates on Tuesday night by a score of 47-35.
With seven turnovers and a slow start to the offense, the Owls’ dug themselves into a deep hole in the first quarter from which they could never recover.
Entering the second period down 3-17, Laguna’s offense began to produce and the defense started to stop some of the Pirates’ possessions. The Owls’ regained some ground; however, they went into the halftime break down by 15.
After the break, the Pirates continue to maintain their double-digit lead throughout the second half, beating the Owls 47-35.
Sophomore Spenser Wyatt had team-high 10 points in his Varsity debut for the Owls, with senior captain J.T. Aubrey close behind with 8.
Laguna plays against Providence Hall at home on Wednesday in their home opener.
