Motherless Brooklyn Review

Through quarantine, we’ve all had to find our ways to enjoy our time, one of them being movies! One of my favorites was the movie, Motherless Brooklyn. It was based on the book Motherless Brooklyn. This was a fantastic movie to watch during the summer, it had a unique New York tone to it with the calm, casual, ‘50s jazz accompanied with soft drums, a story of mystery and an evolving romance revolving around this black woman working with the Black Lives Matter movement and a detective with Tourettes. The acting of this movie transports you into this story and retro setting, and it forms a way for you to time travel. All in all, this is just a wonderful movie to watch not just for those reasons, some of the ideas that are being displayed in this movie are relevant to what’s going on in today’s world.
