“We laughed a lot. My grandmother showed me around London where she lived. I was born in London, but when I was two, we moved for my dad’s job. She took me to the Tower of London, and when we got back, we ate chocolate from the tin of British chocolates she had in her house. I rarely got to see her, since we lived so far apart, and a few years later, she died. I didn’t get to go to her funeral or anything. She was an important person in my life, and I never even got to say goodbye. I always wonder how my life would be different had I never left. I would have been much closer to my family. All my heritage is in London, and I feel that it is my real home.”
