On Tuesday, Apr. 12, the boys lacrosse team who were previously 0-6, competed in a home game against the DP Chargers. The boys have had a slow start to their season — though they have very strong offensive players, the Owl’s defense has been struggling with getting the ball off of their half. Before spring break started, the boys knew they needed to strategize and figure out a game plan so they could win. Luckily, the boys lacrosse team’s hard work of practicing over spring break paid off, and the Owls got their first win of the season when playing against the Chargers! One of the changes the Owls had to make was moving sophomore Anton Homeniuk from forward to defense. Although on defense, Homeniuk new position didn’t stop him from scoring two significant goals for the Owls. Goals also came from sophomore Javier Abrego, Christian Fowler, and Aidan O’Donnell. Abrego and Homeniuk stated that “Aidan had a great game. His contributions to the team and his four goals today were well-needed.” The boys record is now 1-6. The Owls play again on Thursday, Apr. 14, at Dunn.
