On December 9, 2015, Dr. Kim came to Laguna Blanca School to inform students about the UCSB Research Mentorship Program (RMP), a competitive Summer Session happening from June 19 – July 30, 2016. Students must be in grades 10 or 11 and complete the program in its entirety. Participants are paired with a mentor and choose a research project from a large list of subjects. Over the six weeks, students with establish close relationships with their mentors, learn about various research techniques, and take part in and listen to various GRIT Talks. The students who decide to participate are almost never disappointed. In three words, according to Armon Ghodoussi, “It was awesome.” Applications are now open until March 18, 2016, so visit http://summer.ucsb.edu/public/category/programArea.do?method=load&selectedProgramAreaId=10251&leftNav=true for more information.
