The Laguna Blanca Girls’ Soccer team competed against the Bishop Diego Cardinals on Monday 14th. After losing their game to Cate the previous Friday, the girls came out stronger than ever thriving to win. Julia Fay and Kelly Bickett both scored fantastic goals for the team.
In response to how she felt after scoring the first goal of the game and her first goal of the season, Julia Fay, a sophomore, said, “it felt really good, it was a turing point in the game and gave the whole team energy to keep playing our hardest.” Kelly Bickett, also a sophomore, assisted Julia Fay’s opening goal which occurred in the 30th minute of the game. Then, in the 50th minute, Bickett placed a ball in the upper corner of the net making the score 2-0. The Owls held their ground against the Cardinals and the game ended with a score of 2-0.
Julia Fay said, “The game against Bishop was our teams best game this season, we played with confidence and ease, moving the ball around the field a lot. What we have been working on in practice has really payed off.” Overall the Girls’ Soccer team had a solid game and is looking forward to even more future successes.
The team’s next game is on January 7 against Santa Clara.
