We are excited to announce that PeerBuddies is re-launching Social Skills Groups, set to begin February 2015!
Back by popular demand, our social skills groups pair children and teens with special needs with same-aged Peer Buddies who teach them essential social skills in a fun, supportive environment.
Here are the details:
Goals are individualized for each individual with special needs
Peer Buddy volunteers have the unique opportunity to be a mentor to individuals with special needs
All strategies used are research-based, using principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
Program Supervised by a B.C.B.A. with over 12 years’ experience
Ratio’s are 2:1
Weekly group Lessons include topics such as good sportsmanship, teamwork, perspective-taking, empathy, responding to bullies, hygiene, conversation skills, reading facial expressions, and more!
“Themes” each week: Sports, Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Theater
Enrollment Deadline: February 1st, 2014!
