At the next annual Educator Open House, take a closer look at animals and our own animal nature as viewed through the photographer’s lens in the exhibition Art to Zoo: Exploring Animal Natures. Also, consider the sea urchin in a new “light” through the imaginative, large scale sculpture by Cuban contemporary artist Jorge Pardo featured in Contemporary/Modern: Selections from the Permanent Collection. How do animals influence artists’ motifs and inspire design? This focus continues our exploration of the shared process of inquiry, observation, and discovery inherent in both art and science begun last year.
