California Coastal Cleanup Day

California Coastal Cleanup Day!

Please join us on Saturday, September 20 from 9 a.m. to Noon for California Coastal Cleanup Day!

This is a great community service opportunity to make a beach cleanup a K-12, faculty, staff, and family event for Laguna Blanca School! Make sure to wear your LAGUNA-Wear to show school spirit! Laguna Blanca School will be represented at Miramar/Hammonds Beach for the fifth year!

It’s a B.Y.O. event again this year, so please bring your own (B.Y.O.) bag or bucket (something to collect your trash and recyclables in), gardening gloves, and reusable water bottle (LBS is providing 5-gallon jugs of water to share!), to further reduce waste.

Students under 18 without an accompanying parent/guardian must bring a signed waiver form.
• It is attached to this email, and can also be found on the community service page. They will be available in the Hope Ranch front office for students who need to have their parent sign it beforehand.
• Unless you’re under 18 and don’t have a parent with you, you can sign the waiver form at the event.

WHAT TO BRING:
• Wear sunscreen, close-toed shoes, and a hat. Please wear your LagunaWear!
• Bring Your Own bucket or reusable bag, gardening glove, and reusable water bottle. Help us cut down our waste. To find out more about our efforts to make this a less wasteful event, visit the B.Y.O. page: http://www.coastal.ca.gov/publiced/ccd/byo.html
• Student volunteers under 18 must bring a signed waiver with a parent or guardian signature. Parents with children with them can sign the waiver at the beach.

PLEASE NOTE: High tide (+4.47 feet) is at 8:47 AM, so arriving on the later side is a good idea.

I’d appreciate it if everyone could help to spread the word about this LBS event- it is an opportunity for K-12 community service. Thank you in advance!

If anyone would like to help me to host the table, let me know. It would be great to have an extra (or two, three…!) set of hands.

Let’s make this year’s event even more successful… See you at the beach!
