This two-week course allows teenagers with a passion for exploration, science, and adventure to create their own ecological research project while backpacking in the spectacular Yosemite wilderness.
On the Field Research Course students will:
- Go on a backpacking adventure in Yosemite National Park
- Learn wilderness survival and backpacking skills
- Learn about the ecology and natural history of the Sierra Nevada
- Create their own research project and collect data in the field
- Present their research findings
- Meet like-minded people from all of the country
- Strengthen their college applications with hands-on research experience
The course is designed for students ages 15-18 who have completed at least one year of high school biology or equivalent.
