Great News! We have received grant funding and donations to purchase multiple sets of books, and cover training expenses and new book bags for each of our club members!
Two trainings have been held, with a third scheduled for next week. Volunteers spend 1.5 hours learning about the program so they can align their schedules with those interested in participating.
We are READY to start – but need more volunteer leaders!
NEXT Volunteer Training: Friday, April 12, 4-5:30 pm at the Goleta Public Library on Fairview Avenue. Additional dates are being set for April and May.
CLUB MEMBERS: Teens and Adults with intellectual disabilities can sign up to join a weekly club at a location and time that works best for members and volunteer leaders. Clubs will meet once a week for up to 12 weeks, for one hour. “Emergent” readers of all levels welcomed ! NO fee to participate.
VOLUNTEERS are needed for the following groups of members to start – they are ready and waiting! (there is not limit on how many clubs we can start).
Tuesday or Thursday from 4-5 pm Santa Barbara (adults)
Wednesdays, 4-5 pm Santa Barbara (teen group)

Santa Maria adult group wants to start too – please contact anyone you know to train as a volunteer facilitator or club members.
