Video Game Workshop with Globaloria

In this hands-on workshop, the Alliance will educate teachers about various game design skills and tools that can be integrated into the classroom, demonstrating how game making can become a dynamic part of an art curriculum.
ART.WRITE.NOW Opening Reception

The ART.WRITE.NOW Tour, a traveling exhibition featuring bold works created by the talented teen winners of the 2012 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, will make its final stop in Fort Worth. The exhibit displays more than 100 pieces of art and literary works from students in grades 7-12 from all over the country. A special opening reception for NAEA attendees will be held on the evening of Friday, March 8.

Learn how artwork recognized in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards can inspire creative excellence in the classroom. This three-hour session for teachers will be led by veteran Scholastic Award-winning teachers who, through firsthand experience, have supported their students’ participation in the Awards and have witnessed them experience success in future personal and creative endeavors as a result.

General Session – Young Innovators Panel

The third annual Young Innovators Panel will feature past recipients of Scholastic Art Awards and the varying journeys they took in their careers when they discovered disciplines outside of the fine arts to apply their creative and innovative thinking. Learn more about these extraordinary Scholastic Awards alums and their past creative development and present professional innovation.
As you know from direct experience, success in The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is a fantastic way to encourage students to think critically and creatively. Student who earn National Scholastic Awards also have access to over $8 million of dedicated scholarship money.
