Summer 2013 – Twenty High School Volunteer Teams Needed in Dominican Republic and Nicaragua

Hola!

Outreach360 is looking for 20 high school teams to join us for end-of-school-year and summer volunteer opportunities. Would you be willing to make a difference by putting together one of those 20 teams?

Outreach360 is a leader in international service-learning opportunities. Over 14,000 volunteers have joined us in the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua since our program began in 1994. Many of those volunteers have been high school students.

We are currently working with 1st through 4th graders in poor rural neighborhoods. Our vision is that these children will stay in school and graduate from high school fully qualified to attend college, or obtain gainful employment. We are focused on teaching English and Spanish Literacy to these young children.

In addition, we will be teaching our 1st-4th grade students the following components during our Summer 2013 Dare to Dream Program:

o Public Speaking

o Problem Solving
o Non-Violent Communication

This is a great opportunity for students from your high school to make a real difference while experiencing another culture. Our teaching program is dependent on volunteer teachers. Spanish students will have a tremendous opportunity to practice and expand their Spanish in a real world setting. Students not taking Spanish are very valuable in teaching English, and will also have an excellent experience. One of our 10 volunteer principles is “Communicate Love” – it’s not necessary to know the language to make a difference.
