With the deadline quickly approaching – Wednesday, January 16th – we wanted to remind you that this year’s submission process for the LA Student Media Film Fest (LASMF) is highly streamlined and entirely online. As with previous years, LASMF 2013 has a number of great prizes lined up. Winning films will each be awarded a $500 scholarship sponsored by the Jack Oakie and Victoria Horne Oakie Charitable Foundation. The film that is chosen for the “Best of Show” award will receive an additional $500 scholarship. Winning filmmakers will also be treated to a special lunch hosted in their honor at CBS Studio Center with Studio President Michael L. Klausman and will receive an official commemoration from the City of Los Angeles.

Awards will be announced the night of the show, March 30, 2013, at the El Portal Theatre in the NoHo Arts District. LASMF is looking for original pieces created by high school students that do not exceed seven minutes in length. Student work in the animation, comedy, commercial, drama or documentary/PSA category may be submitted.
