Let us share a story…
A 9th grade student has been assigned the task of serving food to families in need. Feeling a bit anxious, he channels the engaging conversations that have come up in his seminars. He surveys his peers to see if there are others who are apprehensive about this task. He notices a few nervous stares, but he also sees a spark in their eyes, a genuine interest in immersing themselves in this project. He puts down his notebook and walks over to the food line. He is officially ready to translate what he has learned in his seminars into serving a community in need.
He no longer merely wants to read about homelessness – he wants to be part of the solution.
For the past five years, I have had the privilege of working as an Assistant Facilitator for the Civic Education Project. Through service-learning projects and insightful seminars, CEP programs ensure that bright students receive the training and tools to solve social problems that impact our world.
As the Civic Education Project begins their 16th year, it is with gratitude to you for sustaining the work that has helped so many students embark on this “life-changing” experience. CEP staff are filled with big ideas for enhancing existing programs and constantly looking for new ways to impact the lives of young people.
That’s why we need your help. By donating at least $50 to the CEP Scholarship Fund, you are investing in future leaders. Like you, I’ve been inspired by the mission of CEP. Now I have demonstrated my commitment through financial support. Your contribution is critical to our ability to make a difference.
Thank you in advance for helping CEP change the lives of outstanding students through “eye-opening” and “transformative” service!
