Attracted by a serene campus and small class sizes, 32 new freshmen came to Laguna’s Upper School earlier this month, 10 of whom are new to Laguna, and the rest attended Laguna for Middle School.
The sophomore class gained four new classmates.
One sophomore in particular Libby Hasse moved here from an all-girls school in Sacramento.
She describes Laguna’s atmosphere as “really relaxed” compared to her previous school.
She “enjoys the freedom” provided by study halls and free periods.
Freshman Phoebe Madsen, who came to Laguna in eighth grade, appreciates the fact that “you can kind of just go wherever you want” in high school compared to middle school.
Already, this freshman is planning to participate in many sports, like volleyball, soccer and lacrosse.
It is not uncommon for freshmen to get involved in extracurricular activities at Laguna.
Freshman Maddie Sokolove is planning to do the spring musical.
She “like[s] being [on] a campus where all the grades are intertwined.”
