The 2020 Olympic Games
November 10, 2019
The 32nd Summer Games will be held in Tokyo from July 24 to August 9, 2020. This is the second time the Summer Olympics will be held in Tokyo. The first time was 1964. In Tokyo, medals are competing in 33 sports. Five are new since open games: baseball/softball, karate, skateboarding, climbing, and surfing.
The Olympic games started first in 1896 in Athens, Greece and since then it has become the most prestigious athletic event in the world. America has had some of the best athletes, for example, Micheal Phelps, the greatest swimmer of all time and the most medals in Olympic history having earned 28 medals. Now that is impressive.
As you might expect, there is an incredible variety of sports at the Tokyo Olympics. Everything from water sports to wrestling. In fact, there are 33 sports in the Olympic games and 22 in the Paralympic games.
