Holiday Decorating 101

Fast, fun, and easy ways to spruce up your space for the coming holiday season.

Dare Fitzpatrick and Amara Murphy

With the holiday season fast approaching, many begin to look for ways to bring festivity to their daily lives. Regardless of the holiday, you celebrate, there are ways to make your space a little brighter for the coming months. Hopefully, these tips will inspire you to immerse yourself in everything holiday.

Tip one: Purchase a seasonal candle. Not only do they provide an appealing glow that is great for the darker winter months, but also they will leave any room filled with a lovely aroma of your choosing. We recommend the spiced orange & clove votive candle by NEST Fragrances and the red currant collection hammered stone candle by Votivo.

Tip two: Hang string lights up in your bedroom or throughout your house. Adding subtle light a small space is perfect for cold nights and gives an overall vibe of festivity. These star curtain string lights from Urban Outfitters are a fun and affordable option.

Tip three: Who doesn’t love a good, cozy blanket— especially in the chilly winter months? Another way to prepare for the coming holiday season is to get some snug blankets! Whether you lay them on your bed to bring the season into your room or snuggle up on the couch, you can never go wrong with a good blanket. One favorite of ours is the cream fuzzy throw blanket from Threshold.

Tip four: Que the music! Whatever holiday you may celebrate, there are always songs to get in the holiday season mindset! The Happy Holidays playlist on Spotify has a range of songs from old classic Christmas songs, to new hits! Enjoy listening to some festive music while the season is around.

Hopefully, these tips have inspired you to immerse yourself in all things holiday. ‘Tis the season!

Happy holidays, from Amara and Dare.
