What is #seniorseason?
Analyzing and reporting on the life of seniors as they go through the college process.
November 5, 2019
The school year has kicked off and classes are underway. Freshmen are adapting to the upper school, Sophomores are in the midst of their high school career, Juniors have moved to a new quad, and Seniors, well… seniors are hanging in there. The first semester of Senior year is both daunting and challenging as students have to juggle the workload of their classes and apply to college. There are many strict deadlines to meet, supplements to write, and applications to fill out, so what is the hype about #seniorseason?
For Seniors, this is their last first day, last dance, last everything, so while Senior year is full of stress, it is also a time to come together as a class and appreciate each other. Senior Emma Raith comments, “Despite the increased workload, I’ve still managed to spend time with my friends and family, and that helps with the added stress this time of year. I look forward to seeing what the rest of my Senior year holds.” Although #seniorseason is full of hard work, it is an exciting time where we await our college decisions, create lasting memories with our friends, and soak up the last of what is our senior year.
Rising seniors and lower classmen should not fear their senior year but embrace all that it has to offer because, after this, you are off to college and creating new experiences with new people. Senior Nina Wolff says, “I will never forget my senior year. It got stressful at times but also with some of the best memories I have with my friends.” The class of 2020 is making the best of their #seniorseason, and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish.
