First, allow me to introduce myself, I am the Creative Director for DogStar Theater Co., and I write you today to invite you and your students to our upcoming production of “The Foreigner” at Center Stage on Oct.20 – 22, 2017.

In my ‘day job’ I am a tutor and independent college counselor, and I have had the pleasure to work with a handful of your students, and do so appreciate them. With this connection, and from some of the summer homework that a few of your 11th grade students have been undertaking (i.e. writing replies to NY Times articles), I was inspired to write to you about my theater company’s next production: “The Foreigner”. The play is a comedy, but revolves around themes of racism, prejudice and the human heart. It could be a great experience for your students to see – not only would they laugh a ton, but it would certainly spark some excellent conversation afterwards on racism and prejudice.
