Hayley, Mica, and Alexa come to the sophomore class with different backgrounds.
The sophomore class gained three new Owls this year: Mica Zimmerman, Alexa Zangrillo, and Hayley Cornell-Morton.
Freshman year, Mica attended Miramonte High School in Orinda, California; Alexa went to Dunn School for half of the year, and Bishop Diego High School for the other half; and Hayley went to Todd County Central High School in Kentucky.
Hayley is looking forward to soccer season this year, and has loved going to school football games.
Mica’s favorite subjects are math and science and she is excited to experience something new and different this year.
“Last year I had about 350 students in my grade, so I love that Laguna is small. It’s fun! Everyone is a lot nicer here,” Mica says about her experience so far.
Mica is on the junior varsity white volleyball team this year.
“At Laguna, everyone is so outgoing and welcoming. The teachers really care about the students and their education. It’s a real family, whereas the other schools attempt, but cannot accomplish it,” said Alexa about the unique qualities of Laguna Blanca.
When asked how she has liked Laguna so far, Alexa replied, “I love it! It’s such a great group of kids and I’m so happy!”
Her favorite classes are English with Ms. Bojana Hill and art with Ms. Delphine Louie.
“I’m excited to build strong friendships, accomplish my goals that I’ve set for myself, and have an exceptional high school experience!” Alexa said.
