Hello! We are in need of volunteers for our Homework Help Program at the Santa Barbara Central Library. Can you please forward this e-mail to any students you feel may be interested?
The Central Library needs adult and teen volunteers to assist children with reading and/or homework in the children’s area during busy afterschool hours. Give back to the community and enrich your life! Teens – Earn community service hours and enhance college applications! Commit to work 2 – 4 hours a week – regular shifts available between 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, or 2:30 – 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Teens required to be a sophomore or higher in high school, maintain a B GPA or above, and provide a letter of recommendation from teacher. Adults 18 and older required to complete a background check/livescan (free contingent on completing 10 hours of service in our community) and a TB test through Partners in Education
We have a volunteer training coming up this Saturday, April 18th, from 11:30-1pm in Faulkner Gallery-West at the Central Library (40 East Anapamu Street, Santa Barbara, CA, 93101). Feel free to bring your lunch or a snack.
To RSVP to the training, reply to [email protected] with your name, phone number, and email or contact the children’s desk at 805-564-5603.
You can access a volunteer application and volunteer agreement form here: volunteer application and volunteer agreement.
We hope to see you there!
