Faculty, Filmmaker Claire Tolles

Two wonderful film productions were showcased on Thursday evening in Laguna’s cypress grove under the stars.

Seniors Sophia Webster and Annie Gabler showcased their joint production in partnership with St. Street Ballet, featuring a compilation of dance through the decades-a-moving and powerful piece. And Claire Tolles shared her animated adventure film, Eightball, which took her 13 months to make. It featured hand-drawn frames, an original script, and many charming performances by Laguna voice actors.

Hats off to Dr. Charles, Donelan who has guided his humanities students every step of the way on this journey. These three humanities scholars produced compelling, polished pieces, and it was delightful to take in the magic last night.

Thank you to Blake Dorfman, Matt Miller, and Melissa Alkire for all the tech setup and event support. And gratitude to all of you who were able to come out and support our student filmmakers.

A heartfelt congratulations to Charles, Claire, Sophia, and Annie for a wonderful show. Bravo!
