Do it for Davies Fundraiser has a Lasting Impact

The successful soccer fundraiser organized by Laguna students in May 2017 to remember Soccer Coach Davies Kabogoza raised more than $12,000, and was bolstered by additional support from the Santa Barbara community. Funds were sent to Kabogoza’s family in Uganda, where they are being used to help his mother add two rooms to her home, which will serve as a lifelong source of rental income for her.
In addition, the Class of 2016 reinvested the senior gift funds given by the Parents’ Auxiliary and chose to remember Kabogoza by planting a cypress tree in his honor along with a memorial plaque. The tree is planted between the tennis courts and the gym at the Hope Ranch campus. Remaining funds provided by the PA went toward installing a water bottle refilling station in the senior quad.
